Small Group - Big Need

It was a last minute arrangement. The call came from a missionary in the West Michigan area who wanted some help understanding digital recording and playback equipment.

We listened to the description of the work being done in this African area. We answered questions about the various kinds of digital Scripture players and details about either obtaining players or preparing materials to go in them.

One area of conversation affirmed the direction God has directed ASM. The language groups in this particular area are considered ‘small’. Their population may only be in the thousands. That means some of the larger media ministries will not invest in these areas. They believe they have a responsibility to go to areas of larger need, with greater population.

Because of our faithful partners, we are able to offer assistance to missionaries like this, no matter what the population of the language group. We place no restrictions on group size.

So we assured our guest that we would assist them in their Scripture media plans. Their desire is to see local believers trained, and to see a consistent recording and distribution of Scripture in audio as it is being translated.

This is a good example of another way to  encourage those who are not sure just where to turn, or who may have been told their area or language group is too small.

People need to hear about Jesus. And here is another group that will be able to listen!
