More than 30,000 Nepali speaking Bhutanese refugees have been resettled in the past several years in many cities in the US. Most of the older people do not read. Some of the younger people who had learned English in the refugee camps in Nepal might be able to read. The older people have become isolated in their new country. Many are open to hear about Jesus, and curious about the Bible. There are Christians among the refugees, and they can help you identify those who might be willing to listen to God's Word in their heart language.
ASM can provide you with a digital Scripture player, containing the Nepali New Testament, Psalms and Proverbs.
If you plan to help with the Bhutanese refugees, or any other refugee community, take time to get to know them, show them you care about them as individuals. Don't pass out any material without laying some relational base. Ask if they would be interested in listening to the Nepali Scriptures. If you can, try to follow up casually in several weeks. They will initially be looking for your concern for them.
If you work with other refugee groups, check with ASM for the availabilty of Scripture players in a number of different languages.
