India Ministry Center

Location:
India
Budget:
$233,000
Still Needed:
$89,000
The Need:
Buildings in a tropical country like India require adequate protection and provision for dealing with the yearly monsoon rains. The current WCOI facility stands 6 feet below street level and flooding is a constant reality during each rainy season. The water from the street rushes into the campus, and often, into the residence. Currently, the flood water must be diverted into a small tank, and then gets pumped back out to the street. This works well for small rains, but the electric pumps cannot keep up with the regular torrential downpours. India also faces frequent power outages during these storms, necessitating the use of a smaller, kerosene pump. The inefficiency of this system has been tolerated for long enough. It is time to fix the flooding on campus.

The Situation

The Solution

The Ministry Center Will:

Solve the water problems with a rainwater harvesting system.

Provide housing for the Director and Asst. Director.

House individuals/mission teams visiting and volunteering at WCOI.

Create a shelter for tribal Bible readers who’ve traveled long distances and have no place to stay.

Ensure safety through better security for the ministry.

Upgrade plumbing to meet daily needs.

Reduce/eliminate the frequent power outages with a campus generator.

Upgrade and improve office facilities to create a more efficient work space.

Grant access for people with physical disabilities.

Create parking spaces on the campus.

Where We Stand

A Ministry Center will take care of our current flooding situation, will provide housing for the staff and for those coming to help with recordings.   Additionally, we will have more room to hold meetings and seminars.    And also, this will allow our India partners to become fully self-sufficient.  This opportunity to help WCOI be non-reliant upon foreign contributions for its day-to-day needs is a good step in the right direction.

The project does not require a cold start.  God has already provided a substantial amount of the necessary funding.  Now, as the need for the Ministry Center becomes more critical, it is time to bring in the rest of the funds quickly.

Thank you!
