Sunday Sunday Sunday!

And then there were three...

Well, the team left Maputo Airport safely...and with no time to spare, as Tropical Storm Irina followed only just a few hours later. Now it's just a "mini team" of me (Jamison) and Kristen helping out Chad, Sergio, and Steve.

In Maputo, we picked up more primer and paint as well as looked at windows and tile. The drive back to Xai-Xai was better than expected; it seemed that the winds from the morning had died down, we got home before dark, and the winds and rain only picked up significantly as we approached Xai-Xai. Praise God there was only minimal damage from the storm!!! There was water in the current studio, but nothing that was too severe to cause damage...just enough to make it all smell wet. We do ask for continued prayer that Irina go back to sea and fizzle out, instead of coming back to our area, as "they" are predicting.

This week should be a good week of painting, if the building can dry out. So far, we can only paint some ceilings on the main floor, as they are dry. But we have everything we need to continue working. We ask for prayer that there would be no interruptions to getting the work done, and that the studio would dry out quickly. The sooner the guys can move into the new studio, the better!

We attended church at the Bible college, had leftover spagetti, and had a mostly relaxing Sunday afternoon. Let's paint!

Testimonies

The following is an excerpt from an email that ASM missionary,Chad, sent in regards to a distribution trip he had gone on last year:

"We had a wonderful opportunity to distribute our audio Sunday School curriculum in a remote area about an hour from our studio. We had a wonderful reception and there were representatives from 7 different rural churches who came to receive the materials. They were all so excited to have these resources for their church.

We also distributed the few audio Bibles that we still had, only about 5. It was mostly older women who received them and they were so excited. They were dancing around with the little audio Bible held high over their head just so thankful to finally have God’s Word in a form that they could use.

We also took some time to have a meal with the pastor who heads up the churches in that area and he just begged us to bring more audio Bibles. He told us of how he has had 9 pastors in the this area pass away (from malaria, TB, and HIV) in the past year and the people in the churches needed God’s Word to sustain them. We were touched by this honest plea and we promised to help as much as we could.
