Chad V.

Chad has experience in audio technology and engineering, video editing, graphic design, and computer programming. At age 21 Chad became convinced that God was calling him to serve as a missionary.

In 2003 he began a bachelor's degree in cross-cultural ministry at Prairie Bible College in Three Hills, Alberta. His three-month college internship in Mexico had a profound effect on him. "It was a life changing experience, and it expanded my worldview in incredible ways," he says.

When he is not working, Chad likes to hike, camp, read, listen to music, play the guitar, and tinker with computers.

Beginning in January 2011, Chad is planning on relocating from Holland, MI to Xai- Xai, Mozambique. He will work with a recording studio there, assisting with maintenance of recording equipment and computers, helping to record and master Scriptures in audio form, and working with national pastors to create listening programs that will use Scripture recordings effectively. As director of African operations for Audio Scripture Ministries, Chad will also oversee audio scripture recording and distribution projects throughout Africa. He will travel from his base in Mozambique to new project locations in order to set up recording and distribution programs and train personnel in recording equipment and techniques.

Testimonies

The following is an excerpt from an email that ASM missionary,Chad, sent in regards to a distribution trip he had gone on last year:

"We had a wonderful opportunity to distribute our audio Sunday School curriculum in a remote area about an hour from our studio. We had a wonderful reception and there were representatives from 7 different rural churches who came to receive the materials. They were all so excited to have these resources for their church.

We also distributed the few audio Bibles that we still had, only about 5. It was mostly older women who received them and they were so excited. They were dancing around with the little audio Bible held high over their head just so thankful to finally have God’s Word in a form that they could use.

We also took some time to have a meal with the pastor who heads up the churches in that area and he just begged us to bring more audio Bibles. He told us of how he has had 9 pastors in the this area pass away (from malaria, TB, and HIV) in the past year and the people in the churches needed God’s Word to sustain them. We were touched by this honest plea and we promised to help as much as we could.
