Situation in Orissa
JP Sundararajan, our India-Asia Director, has been closely following
the situation that has been developing in the eastern state of India,
Orissa. Orissa has historically been infamous for the persecution of
Christians. It earned its dubious honor especially after the brutal
murder of missionary doctor Graham Staines and his sons Philip (aged 7)
and Timothy (aged 9).
Events from this summer
Events of this summer confirm the importance of moving as quickly as
possible toward a Ministry Center building replacement in Bangalore for
World Cassette Outreach of India (WCOI). ASM missionaries, JP and Katy
Sundararajan, just returned from a 6 week stay in India and saw
firsthand the need that exists there.JP and Katy sat down to explain the wonderful opportunities in India.
A New Studio Begins in Peru
We are excited to join with our national partners in Peru in the establishment of a new recording studio. This recording studio is strategically located in the city of Pucalpa in the jungles of central Peru. The focus of this studio is to record and distribute Scriptures in the languages of more than a dozen remote jungle tribes that have been identified as having a need for Scriptures in audio form. The first of these recordings, in the language of the Ticuna people, should be completed later this fall.
First Audio Scriptures for the Makhuwa
For the first time ever there are Scriptures available in audio for the Makhuwa people of Northern Mozambique! After many months of recording and editing done by Sergio and his staff at Crown of Victory Studio, the New Testament recording has been completed. There are about 2.5 million Makhuwas in Mozambique where 2/3 of the population is still illiterate. There has been a growing anticipation surrounding this project, and we are excited to see how the Lord will use this recording...
