A New Studio Begins in Peru

the peru gangWe are excited to join with our national partners in Peru in the establishment of a new recording studio. This recording studio is strategically located in the city of Pucalpa in the jungles of central Peru. The focus of this studio is to record and distribute Scriptures in the languages of more than a dozen remote jungle tribes that have been identified as having a need for Scriptures in audio form. The first of these recordings, in the language of the Ticuna people, should be completed later this fall.

River Evangelism

I just heard about a believer in Peru that travels up and down some really isolated rivers, sharing Jesus Christ in the villages he finds along the way. I heard about him through an unexpected visitor to our office who had met this individual in Peru. The first question had to do with the availability of Scripture recordings of some of the tribal languages in this isolated area. The second question was whether we (ASM) could give advice.

TapeTalks in Bolivia

bolivia Greg, a missionary with Pioneers in Sucre, Bolivia just sent us this note about the Tape Talk Scripture players and how they were being used.

"1. One of our co-workers took them to an area where he works and gave one to a small church there so that they can listen to the Bible on cassette each week... one of our co-workers, Lawrence, is a medical doctor working in remote villages. I gave him one of the cassette players also...
