A Little Glimpse of His Glory

02/26/2010

The following is an excerpt from a recent letter sent from ASM missionary Chad V. during an audio Bible distribution trip in the African country of Mozambique.

In this type of ministry it seems that we work to plant a lot of seeds, but many times do not get to see the fruit of the harvest.  Every once and a while the Lord gives us a little glimpse of the "big picture" and it is one one of those glimpses that I want to share with you.

Let me set the stage for you.  About a year ago, when Sergio and I were planning our first distribution trip here in Mozambique, we met a pastor working in the most northern province of Mozambique who begged us to visit his area with this project.  He shared with us how his area was remote, mostly muslim, mostly illiterate and thoroughly lacking in materials for church growth.

The Answer is "Wait"

09/10/2009

Sergio explaining the TapeTalk playerPastors and many others in Mozambique have been calling and visiting the studio, requesting audio Scriptures.  There were only a few units left, and now they are gone!  This news shows the unusually high level of hunger for God's Word in this highly responsive part of the world.  ASM is seeking to respond to the rapidly growing interest and desire.  The people in Mozambique are glad for anything we can send.  That includes TapeTalk2 cassette players, mp3 CD's, and digital Scripture players.

A Fantastic "Problem"!

06/15/2009

In Mozambique, at the Crown of Victory Studio, Sergio says “he cannot solve the problem we provoked of the players”. Someone might ask what kind of problem was provoked concerning the Megavoice players?

This past March, 2009, ASM Missionary Chad Vanden Bosch and Sergio traveled to various villages and churches, distributing the Megavoice Scripture player in the Makua language.

First Audio Scriptures for the Makhuwa

08/29/2008

Makua reader
For the first time ever there are Scriptures available in audio for the Makhuwa people of Northern Mozambique!  After many months of recording and editing done by Sergio Muianga and his staff at Crown of Victory Studio, the New Testament recording has been completed.  There are about 2.5 million Makhuwas in Mozambique where 2/3 of the population is still illiterate.  There has been a growing anticipation surrounding this project, and we are excited to see how the Lord will use this recording.

Sounds from a Hospital in Togo

02/08/2008

Togo TrainingChad Vanden Bosch, Technical Projects Coordinator for ASM, just returned from Togo, West Africa where he spend two weeks training national believers in basic digital audio recording. The training took place at the Kempton Memorial Hospital near the town of Adeta. Those trained have already begun recording a Scripture translation in the Ewe language. There are over 1 million Ewe speakers in Togo where the literacy rate hovers around 50%. There is a huge need for audio Scriptures not only in Ewe but in many of the 40 languages spoken there.

First Scriptures for the "Robba"

01/03/2008

In the restricted areas of East Africa, this group of "Robba" people (a code name) now listen toRobba listening to Scriptures the gospel of Luke in their heart language. This is the first gospel ever available for these people, and it was published at about the same time the recording was completed. This creates a greater interest in literacy, as they hear God's Word. Your partnership with ASM provides funding for equipment recording, duplication and distribution. Plans call for more recordings in this area usually not open to God's Word.

Who Does That?

05/26/2007

Working with national Christian ministries is a BIG challenge for us in the United States. WE are the real challenge. Our national brothers and sisters are often not sure how to approach us. In the past, westerners (like us) have often come to them with OUR idea for a project or an outreach. Of course, we have the money to do it. Unfortunately, there were times when we just assume that our idea is

1) good

2) will work in a different culture and

3) is really wanted or needed by the national believers.
